Is the deliberate mis-spelling of coarse language and sexual terms to sneak it past the censors/ moderators big and clever or simply a sign of ignorance and arrogance?
Although this is a site for over 18s, you don't need to sign up to be able to read the blogs ..... which means children - maybe your own - could be watching some of you drag it down into the gutter.
Yep I figured this one would stir up a bit of a storm, lol.
For the record I'm not particularly offended by coarse language and of course use it myself from time to time just like anyone else. But I will not generally use it in print (or on here) as I think I can get my message across reasonably effectively and articulately without it.
To me, excessive swearing makes the written word seem aggressive in its tone and to me can make the writer seem arrogant, ignorant, bullying, uncouth and more...

To me, excessive swearing makes the written word seem aggressive in its tone and to me can make the writer seem arrogant, ignorant, bullying, uncouth and downright unpleasant, to say nothing of not terribly bright! Which may or may not be the impression they were trying to put across, who knows! Anyway, just my opinion.
Fair comment ladies with what you said about kids on the 'net and learning bad language generally. Sad that they learn it all so young. Although I think I probably knew most of the words at Primary School but would have been waaay too scared to use them out loud in case my parents caught me! less...
Well this is an adult site and if kids under 18 are looking at it then maybe the parents should have better parental control. I'm not going to censor myself on the off chance that a youngster might have snuck on here!
Well I dont think its a case of being ignorant or arrogant. Some times it just a case of being able to do it because you can but been told you cant. lol
Though I dont think that we must use crude word in communication or to get a point across, sometimes they are just right for the particular content, and I am not offended by their occasional use.
Everyone has a choice of who they associate with, just makes it a bit harder in an open forum like this to have that choice.

As far as the swearing and children, well my six year old knows all the words that I know, NOT from me, but from the older boys at school that made sure all the first graders should have special lessons in swear words. less...
Nobody HAS to agree with me. What you read, is just a small part of me. I answer and i ask. I hope you enjoy YOUR world, and i also hope you don't get too lonely on your own?
Ok, if we're entitled to disagree, stop implying that the way you live in the real world is the right way to live and the ones that disagree live in cloud cuckoo land.
Instant sexual gratification may be the way you enjoy yourself and graphic sexual discussions may floa more...

Instant sexual gratification may be the way you enjoy yourself and graphic sexual discussions may float your boat but don't be arrogant enough to assume that those on a different planet to you aren't having fun and enjoying life! less...
I think that you've hit the nail on the head....we all have different upbringings, morals and ethical standards, what is ok for some is sometimes offensive to others and sometimes it is purely about geography and dialect and the way it comes across...BUT...just as we do when watching television or listening to the radio on subjects that can offend or make us uncomfortable...there's always the OFF switch!

I agree Sparkles. I'm not a prude but there are blogs that offend my sense of decency (didn't know I had one til Aries arrived :-)). Once I know they're there and what they're about, I avoid them.
Having said that, we should be allowed to agree or disagree with other people's opinions without being belittled by the 'class bully' :-) less...
Well if the real world (ariesram's world?), where taste and decorum is dictated by a "big, clever, arrogant" ram who thinks freedom of expression is allowable as long as we agree with him, then I'll opt for my own world :-)

There's many a GOOD word that has disappeared from the English language, due to their 'lack' of use. And, i'm sure, this must be true in other countries too? Let L.F's be MY judge,if the 'words' are up here to seen, then they must be ok...OK?
p.s. I AM big,clever & arrogant...and also,FULL of contempt...for those who deserve it!

I don't think my purpose in joining this site was for the "class" level. And my purpose in staying is cause I enjoy the people and the blogs and some friends. While I admit I don't use profanity/coarse language daily - I have to admit I'm human and do use it, read it and only sometimes offended by it. I consider the blogs to each their own and sometimes I get some entertainment from it if not some information and good comments/feedback. I'm pretty sure my adult sons aren't interested i more...

I'm pretty sure my adult sons aren't interested in my computer life but I think if they found me on here that I am the same person I am at home. Honest - almost to a fault. Sorry if you are offended. less...
As it is an adult site and we are all trying to sometimes paint pictures with our words, it is very frustrating, when those words are deleted from the context, sometimes leaving it very disjointed and not making sense,,,so the mis-spelling is a way of getting certain points across.
I have to agree with AmuseMe that children probably wouldn't find our site very entertaing at all and there are a lot worse they could find.
Personally, I am a bit of an earthy girl, I'm afraid certain words do more...

Classy.
About a month ago, while checking up on my daughters internet useage, ya know, just to be sure, I discovered that she had googled "girls kissing" and in short, to describe to you what SHE SAW: First link was sappho, second link didn't even beat around the bush showing one girl spread eagle with her money-maker in the camera with another woman 3 fingers deep in the aforementioned "money-maker".
If (and they apparently did) my kids are surfing the net for "bad influences" they sure aren't patient enough to flip through this site to find it, even IF they were so inclined to search a BBW site.
Chill. Language on these blogs is the VERY LEAST of my concerns.
(and yes, I did have parental controls on their computer, but because I didn't think she was capable of editing her internet settings, I thought it was safe. Never underestimate your children! Sneaky little sh*ts.) less...
Since my computer happens to be in the living room, where it is plain for all to see what is being accessed, I do not believe this to be a problem for me. Supervision for kids on the internet is imperative. However, I see your point. And, I don't believe it has anything to do with being clever. It has more to do with the ignorance of not being able to communicate except in the crudest of terms. I'd classify this as "ignorance." --True
