Over the last little while, life has had it's usual ups and downs. Work has come up - this is good. Social circles have come up - getting into the nicer weather this too is good. Yet I still find it difficult to find a positive in the dating aspect. What's going on??

Went to a nightclub in neighbouring city not too long ago and was first thrown with the fact that my friend and I appeared to be amongst the eldest in the bar. Not the best place to be even with the youngies liking the cougar scene a bit too much. Frankly, don't need someone I have to go over the basics with.
The other thing that threw me was the lewdness on the dance floor. Don't get me wrong, I like to move it too but not in such a way that inspires tips. No wonder men come up with openning lines about wanting to get busy with ya,... if this is the scene then I get the line but please, don't apply it to all.
Ladies if we want respect then we must act with respect to ourselves. Grinding and bumping along on the dance floor like an open orgy is just not what I consider good advertising for our gender. less...

I hear ya bizzle, remember when a physical expression between people was an actual sign of liking each other and was usually after having had some time of getting to know each other first? Ah, there's something to be said for the older sense of morals and values (and less chance of disease too).

Thanks for the tips there 'true', if I were located in a more urban area I'm sure coffee shops and the like would be a post 10pm option... alas we must work with what is available and I will keep searching for options.
As far as the ladies on this site having the more social decorum and intelligence not to shake their bon bon badly on the dance floor... here's a hoping as someone needs to be setting the benchmark a bit higher than what was shown that night.

Ummm... I doubt that the women that frequent THESE blogs are the type that "bump and grind" on the dance floor. From what I've read here (in the blogs), most of THESE women are intelligent, socially ept, and smart enough not to gyrate so as to invite tips! (It's quite possible, too, that upon noticing the disparity of ages in the bar chosen, that we might have left in search of another venue...) I'm just stating the obvious: you're possibly misdirecting your vent. Although, we are here to vent to, we aren't the "ladies" this should be addressed to. Next time, maybe scope out a few different places, and if one doesn't "pan out", the go on to the next. I prefer a more intellectual crowd and like to go to coffee shops, book stores and the like. Local events centered around your interests might be a good option for you... less...
