Howdy to all of the people who read this blog. My questions is this, do you have a favorite song or songs that you know right from the opening note/lyrics and sing right along word for word? I can name a lot, but 1 that really gets to me is this opening line from a very memorable song, so see if you can name that song and maybe the artist. Here we go:

Baby we can talk all night but that ain't getting us no where.

OR can you name this one:

If you could read my mind love, what a tale my thoughts could tell.

or this one in particular and yes it's the original opening line to a famous song:

On a hot summer night, would you offer your throat to the wolf with the red roses.

Now share with me some of your favorite tunes and their lyrics. You can read at the bottom who the artist is and their song:

Two out of Three Ain't Bad by Meat Loaf

If you could read my mind by Gordon Lightfoot

and then You Took the Words Right out of My Mouth by Meat Loaf.

ok I love all kinds of music but i find the one type that keeps lyrics going over and over in my head is country music.. for me its the lyrics they are so romantic and soulfull LOL im a big sap lol .. here are just a few of my most favorite and memorable

she's a wild one with an angels face, she's a woman child in a state of grace ,when she was 3 years old on her daddy's knee he said you can be anything you wanna be ...she's a wild one runnin free
wild one by Faith Hill ( one of my all time favs)

they read you cinderella you hoped it would come true that one day your prince charming would come rescue you.. you like romantic movies you never will forget the way you felt when romeo kissed Juilet .. all this time that you've been waiting well you dont have to wait no more cause i can love you like that
I can love you like that by John micheal Montgomery ( awesomely romantic!!)

do you love me? do you want me my friend and if you do well then dont be afraid to take me by the hand if you want to well I think this is how love goes.. check yes or no
check yes or no by George Strait
(this ones a real keeper heheh)

The magic filled the night
She touched my soul like no one else
Yes, the way that woman made me feel
Left me talking to myself

hypnotise the moon by Clay walker
( I love almost every song by clay )

I gave you a ring
And I promised you things
I always thought we'd do
But my best-laid plans
Slipped right through my hands
To show my love for you
And if you could read my heart
Then you'd know without exception
It was all with the best of intentions
best of intentions travis tritt
( he has some powerfull songs and some beautiful music videos)

And even if the sun refuse to shine
Even if romance ran out of rhyme
You would still have my heart
Until the end of time
You're all i need
My love, my valentine

All of my life
I have been waiting for
All you give to me
You've opened my eyes
And showed me how to love unselfishly

I've dreamed of this a thousand times before
In my dreams i couldnt love you more
I will give you my heart
Until the end of time
You're all i need
My love, my valentine

my valentine- Martina mcbride
( another sappy but beautiful love song)

It took me awhile to narrow it down from so many. These are 3 of my favorite love songs:

Chorus:
And all my life I've prayed for someone like you
And I thank God that I, that I finally found you
All my life I've prayed for someone like you
And I hope that you feel the same way too
Yes, I pray that you do love me too.
K-Ci & Jojo - All My Life

When I was younger man I hadn't a care. Foolin' around, hittin' the town, growing my hair. You came along & stole my heart when you entered my life. Ooh babe you got what it takes so I made you my wife.
Climax Blues Band - I Love You.

and of course, last but not least,

Maybe I'm amazed at the way you love me all the time. Maybe I'm afraid of the way I love you.
Paul McCartney - Maybe I'm Amazed

Incredibly powerful lyrics.
PG.

very nice choices all around, one of the songs that gets me every time is matchbox 20 Hand me down:

Somebody ought to take you in
Try to make you love again
Try to make you like the way they feel
When they're under your skin
Never once did think they'd lie when they're holding you
You wonder why they haven't called
When they said they'd call you
You start to wonder if you're ever gonna make it by
You'll start to think you were born blind

From what I've seen
You're just a one more hand me down
Cause no one's tried to give you what you need
So lay all your troubles down
I am with you now

Also the song Beautiful by Me'shell Ndegeocello, I won't copy the lyrics here because they lose something when you read the lyrics alone, you have to hear the song to get the full effect. Highly recommend it if you have the chance to look it up! :)

Wow, these are good ones. They also remind me of another great song by a blind guitarist, better known to us as The Jeff Healey Band that goes: "what did I do, what did I say to turn your angel eyes my way". Great choices. :-)

" I heard he sang a new song, I heard he had a style,
And so I came to see him and listen for a while..."
Killing me Softly, By:Roberta Flak

"Baby Mine, don't you cry...Baby Mine Dry your eyes--Rest your head close to my heart, never to part, baby of mine"
Baby Mine, From the Dumbo Movie by Disney. I especially like Allison Krauss' version.

Just two of my all time favorites!

I have four songs, I know alot, but they're all special and unforgettable to me for different reasons. And all of them hold a firm place in my heart.

Saving Jane- Imperfection

My hair's a wreck,
Mascara runs,
My feet get dirty,
And my skin burns in the sun.
My lips they bleed
But I still sing my songs.
Takes me a minute
To admit it when I'm wrong.

Pretty is as pretty does,
But pretty's not my thing.

This is what you get.
This is who I am.
Take me now or leave me
Any way you can.
Sometimes I trip and fall
But I know where I stand.
And if you're thinking about changing my direction,
Don't mess with imperfection.

My back is weak,
But my will is true.
Got good intentions
But I never follow through.
I say too much,
And don't know when to leave.
In case you're looking,
That's my heart there on my sleeve.

Ego trips and stupid slip ups,
I'm a mess but...

This is what you get.
This is who I am.
Take me now or leave me
Any way you can.
Sometimes I trip and fall
But I know where I stand.
And if you're thinking about changing my direction,
Don't mess with imperfection.

Scratched and bruised,
A little used,
But baby I work fine.
You might call me
Damaged goods,
But I'm one of a kind.

My hair's a wreck,
No I'm not perfect
But I'm not the only one.

This is what you get.
This is who I am.
Take me now or leave me
Any way you can.
Sometimes I trip and fall
But I know where I stand.
And if you're thinking about changing my direction,
Don't mess with imperfection.

This is who I am.
After if you're thinking about changing my direction,
Don't mess with imperfection.

Saving Jane- Happy

Filling up my empty days with red wine
Wonder what you think of me?
Lying in the grass alone and wasted
Nothing's how it used to be.

I wanna be the first to call and tell you
Yesterday I heard the news.
I hear you oughtta be congratulated
So I guess that's what I'll do.

I'm so happy for you,
I could cry.
Yeah, I'm so elated
Cross my heart and hope to die.
I don't think about you every night
Before I close my eyes.
I'm so happy for you baby,
I could cry.

Listen to the sound of my head pounding
Wish that it was make-believe.
Praying for the skies to open up and
Wash away your memory.

I can walk around with a pretty face on
Even when I'm black and blue.
What's the point in telling everybody
I'm not over you?

I'm so happy for you,
I could cry.
Yeah, I'm so elated
Cross my heart and hope to die.
I don't think about you every night
Before I close my eyes.
I'm so happy for you baby,
I could cry...

Cry about the love we used to have...
Cry that I won't ever get you back...

Filling up my empty days with red wine
Wonder what you think of me?

I'm so happy for you
I could cry.
Yeah, I'm so elated
Cross my heart and hope to die.
I'm so happy for you.
So, so happy for you!
I don't think about you every night
Before I close my eyes.
I'm so happy for you baby,
I could cry.

Gary Jules- Mad World

All around me are familiar faces.
Worn out places. Worn out faces.
Bright and early for their daily races.
Going nowhere. Going nowhere.
Their tears are filling up their glasses.
No expression. No expression.
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow. No tomorrow.

And I find it kind of funny,
I find it kind of sad,
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had.
I find it hard to tell you,
I find it hard to take,
When people run in circles
It's a very, very
Mad World.
Mad world.

Children waiting for the day they feel good.
Happy Birthday. Happy Birthday.
And I feel the way that every child should.
Sit and listen. Sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous.
No one knew me. No one knew me.
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson?
Look right through me. Look right through me.

And I find it kind of funny,
I find it kind of sad,
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had.
I find it hard to tell you,
I find it hard to take,
When people run in circles
It's a very, very
Mad World.
Mad World.
Enlarging your world.
Mad World.

The Lion King on Broadway- Endless Night

Where has the starlight gone?
Dark is the day.
How can I find my way home?

Home is an empty dream
Lost to the night.
Father, I feel so alone.

You promised you'd be there
Whenever I needed you.
Whenever I call your name
You're not anywhere.

I'm trying to hold on.
Just waiting to hear your voice,
One word, just a word will do,
To end this nightmare.

When will the dawning break,
Oh, endless night?
Sleepless I dream of the day

When you were by my side,
Guiding my path.
Father, I can't find the way.

You promised you'd be there
Whenever I needed you.
Whenever I call your name
You're not anywhere.

I'm trying to hold on.
Just waiting to hear your voice,
One word, just a word will do,
To end this nightmare.

I know that the night must end,
And that the sun will rise.
And that the sun will rise.

I know that the clouds must clear,
And that the sun will shine.
And that the sun will shine.

I know that the night must end,
And that the sun will rise.
And that the sun will rise.
I know that the clouds must clear,
And that the sun will shine.
And that the sun will shine.
(Repeat to end)

I know!
Yes, I know!
The sun will rise!
Yes, I know!
I know!
The clouds must clear!

I know that the night must end,
I know that the sun will rise,
And I'll hear your voice deep inside!

I know that the night must end,
And that the clouds must clear!
The sun,
The sun will rise!
The sun,
The sun will rise!

Oh yes! A few of my favorites:

Time, it needs time
To win back your love again.
I will be there, I will be there.

* Scorpions - Still Loving You

I hear the drums echoing tonight;
But she hears only whispers of some quiet conversation

* Toto - Africa

Out on the tar plains, the glides are moving
All looking for a new place to drive

*Duran Duran - The Chauffeur

In the shadows of tall buildings
Of fallen angels on the ceilings

*Jump Little Children - Cathedrals

I wouldn't say this one I know by heart... the songs I know by heart are usually tacky ones that stay in my mind all day. But there's a song that move me every time I hear it... deeply move me, perfect symbiose of music and lyrics as far as I'm concern. I must have 15 different versions of: the first time I ever saw your face.

The first time ever I saw you face
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
And the moon and the stars were the kiss you gave
To the dark and the endless skies, my love
To the dark and the endless skies

The first time ever I kissed your mouth
I felt the earth move in my head
Like the trembling heart of a captive bird
That was there at my command, my love
That was there at my command, my love

The first time ever I lay with you
I felt your heart so close to mine
And I knew our joy would fill the earth
Would last ?till the end of time, my love
And it would last ?till the end of time, my love

The first time ever I saw your face, your face, your face, your face.
